Using the Pencil Tool, you can paint in additional colors and designs throughout the skin. However, instead of using the Brush Tool, which is what you would normally use for painting, the Pencil Tool will give you nice, square brushes, similar to pixels! Now that the main colors have been shifted, extra details can be painted in. The same can be done for the pants, which will fall under the Blues range. Once the new range of colors has been set, shifting the Hue will only change the color of the shirt. For the shirt, we’ll want to target the Cyans. Instead, you can target in on a more specific range of colors using the drop down within the Adjustment Layer. Simply adjusting the Hue value will shift the colors on a global scale, which you probably don’t want. The Adjustment Layer we’re going to add, will be Hue/Saturation. Now that the image is editable, we can proceed. In order to correct this, set your image to RGB mode, under the Image > Mode menu. This happens a lot with png and gif files. This is because the image is set to Indexed Color mode. When the skin is initially brought into Photoshop, you may not be able to perform many edits. Command/Ctrl + 0 will perform this action. Once the image is visible, drag it into Photoshop, where it’s going to appear very, very small.īecause we’re dealing with a pixel based image, it can easily be zoomed to fit your screen.
